“Ephraim, he hath mixed himself among the people; Ephraim is a cake not turned. Strangers have devoured his strength, and he knoweth it not...” Hosea 7:8-9a

            The present public school system is essentially pagan, in both doctrine and practice. Wherever God and His Holy Word is forbidden, and humanism prevails, by definition, that institution is anti Christ. This is the fact, and must be internalized by the Christian parent. In light of this, all arguments for allowing Covenant Christian Children to be part of the public school system fail. Furthermore, given the overwhelming evidence, that the public school system is anti Christian, Christian parents are inviting destruction upon their posterity.
            Consider the reality of the situation. God’s Covenant Children are being forced, by parents, church and state, to be mingled among the heathen in an anti- Christian education system. Parents either delude themselves, thinking that the public education system is “not that bad” , or rationalize that their children need to be witnesses of Christ in such an institution. Parents also excuse their rebellion by pleading either to their financial situation, or their lack of intellectual qualifications, to teach at home.
            The majority of churches, also, want no part of the education process. The do not provide the necessary support from the pulpit for the parents to educate at home. They just “preach Christ”, as if Biblical Education of Covenant Children is not part of preaching Christ. (see Deuteronomy 6 and Matthew 18:6)
            The church also fails miserably in exposing the public school’s anti-Christian curriculum, and the underlying motives of statist education, for fear of being sanctioned by the government . Since Christian home education is no longer the norm of the Christian family, the church shuns its promotion, so as not to offend those families that refuse to Home educate. Instead of the Pastors dispensing the Truth about the current education system of the state, it bows to the “mob rule” of the people, who cannot discern the difference between their right hand and their left.
            On the one hand, the State uses fear tactics through truancy laws, in order to force Christian Children to be part of their godless educational agenda, while on the other hand, cunningly provides daily “personal freedom” for parents, by “caring” for their children during their 8 hour indoctrination period. Rather than promoting Godly Ethics, and Biblical precepts, upon which this Nation was originally founded, the neo-pagan, statist education system expounds Marxist psycho babble, turning the hearts of children from the Truth of the Holy Scriptures, and the God of all Creation, to the anti- Christian principles of Nietzsche, Freud and Darwin.

            In essence, the Christian Community has made a confederacy with the wicked and godless of the world. If there is to be any restoration of the Covenant Home, Christians must cease from excusing themselves from the responsibility of providing Godly Education to their youth.

“Thou shalt make no covenant with them, nor with their gods.” (Exodus 23:32 AV)

            God expressly forbids all unlawful leagues with pagan nations. “And ye shall make no league with the inhabitants of this land; ye shall throw down their altars: but ye have not obeyed my voice: why have ye done this? “  (Judges 2:1-2 AV) 

            The question raised in this verse is “Why?” Why has God’s Covenant people chosen to form an association with infidels and idolaters. Instead of destroying known enemies of the Gospel, the Children of God have set themselves in alliance with them.

“And when the LORD thy God shall deliver them before thee; thou shalt smite them, [and] utterly destroy them; thou shalt make no covenant with them, nor shew mercy unto them:  Neither shalt thou make marriages with them; thy daughter thou shalt not give unto his son, nor his daughter shalt thou take unto thy son.  For they will turn away thy son from following me, that they may serve other gods: so will the anger of the LORD be kindled against you, and destroy thee suddenly.  But thus shall ye deal with them; ye shall destroy their altars, and break down their images, and cut down their groves, and burn their graven images with fire.  For thou [art] an holy people unto the LORD thy God: the LORD thy God hath chosen thee to be a special people unto himself, above all people that [are] upon the face of the earth.”  (Deuteronomy 7:2-6 AV)

            The confederation with anti-Christian people is sin. Furthermore, it brings with it the consequence of Divine destruction. Yes, God will destroy those who make unlawful confederacies with the pagan god-haters of the world.
            The principle concerning unlawful alliances however, is universal. It does not apply only to the education system, nor does it apply to the religious world. This principle is an absolute Law which encompasses personal, religious, educational, and civil spheres of life. Our entire existence is to be regulated by this Commandment.

“He that worketh deceit shall not dwell within my house: he that telleth lies shall not tarry in my sight. I will early destroy all the wicked of the land; that I may cut off all wicked doers from the city of the LORD.“   (Psalms 101:7-8 AV)

            Both the Church and the Family have denied that God’s enemies are their enemies too. This fact is plain. Although much rhetoric is offered upon Godliness and obedience, a man’s witness is finally legitimized by his conduct and practice. A parent that praises God in speech on the Sabbath, while offering up his son or daughter to the gods of the heathen during the week, gives only lip service to the Lord. God will not be mocked. Whatsoever a man sows, that also shall he reap.

    “Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness?
    And what concord hath Christ with Belial? or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel? And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in [them]; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people.
    Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean [thing]; and I will receive you,
    And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty.”  (2 Corinthians 6:14-18 AV)

The Basis of God’s Law

    God has given the Christian His Law for a very specific reason; our protection and guidance. His Law is also for our teaching, reproof, and correction. (cf 1 Tim 3.16) Furthermore, God requires that the saints obey His Law. They are not optional. Today’s “modern Christian” has convinced himself that the Laws of God were for ancient Israel only, without any bearing upon the New Testament Church. He has deceived himself into thinking that God’s Laws are an optional “pick and choose” smorgasbord of rules. What is convenient will be obeyed, and what is inconvenient can be omitted. This may not be verbally admitted, or consciously accepted but actions speak louder than words.
    The fact remains clear, God’s Word is the same, yesterday, today, and forever. His Laws are settled in heaven and cannot be made void. Why, then, do so many Christians and Pastors hide, and bury their heads like the proverbial ostrich, when it come to the education of Christian Children? All too often, pastors behave more like hirelings than shepherds, unwilling to sound the alarm, and warn the ignorant, of the wrath associated with forbidden covenants.

The Old Deluder Satan Law

    Shortly after Harvard University was established in 1636, by clergyman John Harvard, the colonists of Massachusetts and Connecticut wanted their Covenant Children to be properly educated, according to Biblical precepts. Their primary motive was to guard against ignorance concerning Christian principles for Family, Church and Civil Government. The leaders of Massachusetts and Connecticut passed what is known as the “Old Deluder Satan Law.”

            “It being one chief project of that old deluder, Satan, to keep men from the knowledge of the Scriptures, as in former time...It is therefore ordered...[that] after the Lord hath increased [the settlement] to the number of fifty householders, [they] shall forthwith appoint one within their town, to teach all such children as shall resort to him, to write and read...and it is further ordered, That where any town shall increase to the number of one hundred families or householders, they shall set up a grammar school for the university.” 1647

            It must be noted here that the prerequisite of the school was based upon the education of God’s Word, since it explained and regulated every area of life. Today, the education system does all it can to desecrate God’s Word and to promote alternate anti-Christian views in interpreting the world.
            Perhaps one reason for the ignorance of Christian parents and clergy is due to the misunderstanding of what true education is. Education is not simply a system of academics, wherein facts and figures are spued forth without regard for meaning. The meaning of all learning lies in its relation to the Lord Jesus Christ, His Gospel and His Sovereign Reign over all flesh. Once this relation is nullified, all learning becomes absurd and vain. Removing God from education is like removing the wings from a sparrow-it cannot fly.

The Suppressing of The Truth

“For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness...”  (Romans 1:18 AV)

There can be no legitimate argument that the public education system upholds the Truth of God’s Word. If there ever was a Scriptural condemnation against the State-run education system, it is Romans 1:18.
    The word “hold” literally means to suppress. Today’s education system, however, goes much further than suppression, it seeks to obliterate. Thus, the wrath of God abides upon the entire institution of the education system of America. There can be no skirting this potent reality, and still there are millions of Christian parents who willfully place their Children under the oppression of Pharaoh’s taskmasters. The Word of God is crystal clear! Let those who have ears hear.

“Whoso despiseth the word shall be destroyed: but he that feareth the commandment shall be rewarded.” (Proverbs 13:13 AV)

When Christian parents place their children into the environment of the public school system, they are in fact placing them under the teaching of fools. Even those well-meaning, Christian teachers who, by threat of godless legislation cannot speak God’s Word, have been made as “dumb dogs.”

“O LORD, how great are thy works! [and] thy thoughts are very deep. A brutish man knoweth not; neither doth a fool understand this.”  (Psalms 92:5-6 AV)

“He that walketh with wise [men] shall be wise: but a companion of fools shall be destroyed. “  (Proverbs 13:20 AV)

Guidelines

1. Those who are opposed to God in doctrine, and in practice are the enemies of God’s people.   cf James 4:4 Acts 13:10

3. Those who remain neutral regarding the Sovereignty of God in all areas of life are God’s enemies.   cf Col 2:18-19

7. Those who refuse to warn the people that the wolf approaches are God’s enemies.   cf Eze 33 John 10:12-13

Secondly, once the enemy is identified, the Christian must reprove their actions.

“And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove [them].  For it is a shame even to speak of those things which are done of them in secret.”   (Ephesians 5:11-12 AV)

“If thine enemy be hungry, give him bread to eat; and if he be thirsty, give him water to drink:”.  (Proverbs 25:21 AV)

“But I say unto you which hear, Love your enemies, do good to them which hate you...”  (Luke 6:27 AV)

            Those who know the Truth are to feed the ignorant with that Truth. The Truth of God’s Word is the Bread and Water of Righteousness. In Luke 6, the good that the Christian ought to do on behalf of the enemy is to bring that Truth, so that they may turn from wickedness. However, if that Truth is rejected, then we are to count them as a publican and an infidel.

“And whosoever will not receive you, when ye go out of that city, shake off the very dust from your feet for a testimony against them.”   (Luke 9:5 AV)

“Now I beseech you, brethren, mark them which cause divisions and offences contrary to the doctrine which ye have learned; and avoid them.  For they that are such serve not our Lord Jesus Christ, but their own belly; and by good words and fair speeches deceive the hearts of the simple.”   (Romans 16:17-18 AV)

            There can be no vacillation as to what we Christian parents must do. We must stand against every evil work, making no confederacy with the godless and unbelieving, especially when that evil work is aimed at the destruction of our Children, and the truth of God. May God help us to serve Him and to obey His every Word.

“And if it seem evil unto you to serve the LORD, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that [were] on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.” (Joshua 24:15 AV)
